Change and Speed
We live in a moment of history where change is so speeded up that we begin to see the present only when it is already disappearing - - RD Laing

I like change in life. I hate monotony in life, like a still image.Life needs to keep rolling, and change needs to keep taking place.

I also like speed in life. I like things when they move fast. Life should be as fast as a roller coaster.Vroooooommmm.....

My last few years have been a little slow paced, but with my nearing completion of an arduos and painfully long studying career, i expect some change and speed in life ....Yay!.... I m actually looking forward to that.

i agree about change....when life becomes static it gets too dull...i remember waking up in my old job and thinking 'not another day of not learning anything'...and i'd go into work with a really long face...my seniors thought i was anhedonic!!! i've rotated onto a new firm now thankfully...renal medicine...it's busy...but it's also a steep learning curve. i've been looking for something to keep me on my toes...maybe not for a good 12 hours a day...but then one can't have everything ;) so here's to terribly full days! gotta get those grey cells working!

You are not anhedonic at all - i must credit you with a very affable personality!
Good Luck with Renal Med! and yes, change is welcome in such situations!

i guess we're rather lucky in the uk...docs here get to move departments every six months....it's great in many ways...one gets to come across all kinds of personalities at work and the boredom is thus killed...and the patients in each specialty differ too...there's a lot to learn from each of them...hows the medical residency in the usa...must be similar.

Hmmn, never thought about it, but yeah , most doctors here , cannot change departments as easily- they call it lack of career focus ,lol.U can have varied interests , but ur parent department is fixed :)
I will agree on the personalities though.... you can get to meet a myraid spectrum of people, and everyone has something to offer you to learn:)
